HOTEL

La Misíon de Fray Diego -- .lamisiondefraydiego.com/

C. 61 #524, entre 64 y 66, Parque Santiago, Centro, 97000 Mérida, Yuc., Mexico

We are taking over the whole hotel ~ ALL 26 rooms!! ~ at La Misión de Fray Diego, originally built over 400 years ago as a convent. To book, contact Flor Medina (10 am to 1 pm CT) or the front desk any other time.

Ph +52 9999 24 1111 or email reservas@lamisiondefraydiego.com.

The hotel has hair dryers, ironing boards and irons. Mexico has the same electrical supply as the US so our Type A and B plugs work there as well. That said, there are not a lot of outlets per room, so bring whatever you need to charge extra devices.

GETTING TO MERIDA

American (via Miami), United (via Houston) and Delta (via Mexico City with connection to Aeromexico) have flights into and out of Merida (MID).

Once you clear immigration and customs, you will see several

taxi services on the right-hand side of the hallway. It is recommended that you stop here and arrange taxi service to the hotel. While there are Ubers readily available in the city, Ubers are not allowed to legally

pick up at the airport.

Alternatively, if you’d like to pre-arrange a pick up by one of our helpful and friendly local team, please feel free to WhatsApp either:

Eduardo: +52 999 331 4825 or Luis: +52 444 174 8667

ATMS

It would probably be helpful to have some pesos when you arrive in the city for taxi and/or tips. One note – do NOT accept the conversion to pesos that the ATM offers you. It's a huge scam and can end up costing you a lot of money depending on how much you're taking out - from around 7% to up to 14% depending on the bank.

WEATHER

Temperatures are pretty consistent during September ranging from low 70’s at night to low 90’s during the day. September is also the rainy season, so come prepared!
